Westport Dog Training, LLC: About Us

Michele Wan, MS, MPhil, Owner and Trainer

Michele has extensive hands-on experience with
dogs of various ages, sizes, and breeds, as well
as a formal background in animal learning and
behavior. She is a published author in the
peer-reviewed journals Applied Animal Behaviour
Science and Behavioural Processes.

She received her BA in psychology from Brown
University, as well as an MA and MPhil in
psychology with a focus on animal behavior from
Columbia University. She is currently working
towards her PhD at Columbia. To find out more

Michele lives in Westport, CT and was
appointed by the First Selectman to serve as a
member of the Dangerous Dog Hearing Board.
She has also been volunteering at the ASPCA in
New York City since 2004 and enjoys working
with the dogs at the shelter who require more
experienced handling and training.

Michele, who also has a master's degree in
education, previously taught in a New York City
public school and received New York State
teacher's certification. Her teaching experience
helps her communicate training techniques
clearly to clients of all ages.
