Dr. Wan has eight years of professional hands-on experience with dogs of various ages, sizes, and breeds, as well as a formal background in animal learning and behavior. She is an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University and teaches courses about animal behavior. She received her doctorate in psychology with a focus on animal behavior from Columbia University.

Dr. Wan has studied dog-human
communication, canine behavioral genetics,
and cross-cultural differences in dog-keeping

Previously, Dr. Wan was a public school teacher in New York City and received a master's degree in education and state teacher's certification. Her teaching experience helps her communicate training techniques clearly to clients of all ages.
